01 - PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project is an exploratory motion graphics video created using Adobe After Effects that focuses on the interaction between shapes, textures and motion. With an emphasis on smoothness and the theme of individuality, the animation follows the interactions of a shape as it gradually separates itself from its environment and transforms into a one-of-a-kind object.
02 - CONCEPT
I aimed to create a singular motion graphics video that would push me to explore After Effects in greater depth and improve my overall proficiency in motion design. The project was intentionally exploratory to allow me the freedom to experiment with new tools, techniques, and effects without any constraints besides the overarching theme. I chose to do this through the use of a ball animation, to keep the video simplistic and enhance it purely through motion.

03 - PROCESS
I began by creating a moodboard to establish a visual identity for the project, focused on the two different styles I wanted to represent in the video. Storyboards were then hand-drawn to establish a timeline of events within the video, which helped in eventually defining transitions and pacing. I also collected feedback from my fellow peers, which aided in further revisions to the storyboard as I moved on to the digital creation of the piece.

04 - REFLECTION
The project helped me to improve my time management skills and own personal workflow. Working on my own schedule allowed me to get real experience at handling a bigger project on my own and successfully hitting my deadlines when they came. Overall the project strengthened my confidence in motion design and reaffirmed my interests in video-based content.
